After after 23 years my ANSA muffler has bit the dust. I was looking at a replacement and found these. They are single outlets made by ANSA for fiat. Anybody know anything about these. Im use to seeing the dual tips.

the specific brand does not do anything for me, but the design sure looks like it will appear stock once installed.

you know.... stock=boring but servicable.

Mike - Bosal exhaust products are made in Kingston, ON and are excellent quality OEM replacements. They've been doing it for years.

The single outlet Ansa is interesting, but looks a little "ricer" to me. Aren't dual outlets mandatory for us?

yeah I agree they look a little ricey. I was looking for the dual tips and these kept showing up. I could only find the dual tips from the usual high price vendors.

by the way, i love your comment about the life of the ANSA. we had a discussion a few months ago about ANSA's and their alledged lack of longevity. i argued (unsuccessfully at the time) that the ANSA can last for quite a while. i was unsuccessful at the time due to lack of rallied support.

as far as dual tips and high prices... what do you consider excessive cost for something that is nice to look at (presumably chrome or stainless), low volume and generally North American made?

i've heard of Stebro systems going for as little as $7-800, generally they are in the thousands; which makes an Allison Automotive or a Fun-Imported system look quite manageable. since you HAD an ANSA in the past, you must have realized it was not obtained at the same price as the muffler man off-the-shelf $75 special.

what's your top price you are willing to pay? and, for that price, what are you willing to accept in sound and looks?

My fiat was bought new by my parents while stationed in Germany. We put the ANSA exhaust on right before we shipped it to the state in 1986. It was then shipped to Korea in 1988 I got the car in 1995 From my parents. I want to say we paid about 50.00 dollars us to have it installed. So I am with ya on the longevity and quality of ANSA. I was also in the military and was station all over the place. I have notice that vendors in the states are very expensive. Prices vary from vendor to vendor. But there is a 100 dollar difference between vicks auto and IAP. Vicks sells ANSA for 219.00 and IAP for 319.00. I do agree that your going to pay for what you want. Of course I want another Dual tip Ansa.I was just looking to see what the prices were. Monza also used to make a muffler just like ANSA but they no longer do that. I was also wondering if anybody was running those ANSA i had in my previous post. They are cheaper but look ricey. I just cant see myself ricing out a fiat. Now that just ain't right!!!!

My vote, single tip no bummpers!



Dynomax 5x9 flow thru, with weld on silencer tip (pep boys 2-1/4") also under the car is an 4" dynomax flow thru resenator.

i dunn profess to be a silencer expert, but i do know that there are many, many more alternatives than the two you mentioned.
our forum moderator, Mark Allison is one.
Danny O'Donnell at http://www.funimported.com is another.
Ted suggests combining several sources to get the sound, look and quality you desire.

Depending on shaving/not shaving the bumper... a typical muffler may be too long at the tip. you might need to go custom if you're shaving your chrome off. i think my ANSA tips are now too long for my modified rear end. I'll be looking to someone like Mark Allison to custom form a silencer for me soon. cost is only one of many considerations.
