76 spider brake block
76 spider brake block
Just got a 76 fiat spider with no brakes. Filled her up with fluid and I have a leak coming from a 4 port block with a wire coming from it. I cant seem to find this part for sale anywhere. Is there a work around to eliminate it? Thanks.

Re: 76 spider brake block
Hello,
That part turned on the dash brake light if the pressure between the 2 circuits was different. After '77 that was eliminated in favor of a float with a switch in the reservoir.
You can eliminate that block by:
-Replace it with a solid one that simply has straight holes between the tubes and no switch (I may have one)
-Remove the block, route the rear hose straight to the master cylinder, and use a left front brake line from a later Spider (I may have that aswell).

I think I will just replace it with a 4 port block with no switch. Can you provide pricing and availability on this. Thanks.

If the leak is coming out of the port for the wire sensor, JB Weld would solve the problem. That's where I developed a leak, and not being able to find a replacement, I just sealed it up. That was over 3 years ago and no leaks.

I have the block with the sensor, no leaks, and a few of the hard lines that come from it. Send me an email if interested. matt.scarton@gmail.com
