Does anyone know if the Weber 38 DGAS would work on the fiat?
It is a water activated choke dual barrel carb. I hope to adapt it to fit the original manifold for a single carb setup. It is called an alternative to DGV carbs.
Anyone know much about the Weber designations? Have a source with the descriptions? Etc...?
Replacement Carb
I recently installed a 38 DGES carb on a 2L Spider with street perf cams and one of my header systems. The problem with the carb is that the choke is on a different side than the stock carb. The choke hits the cam box, requiring the carb to be rotated 180 degrees. That puts the linkage on the front side of the carb, so new links have to be fabricated.
That carb has both barrels synchronized, so it may be too much for an 1800 at low speed. Since both barrels open simultaneously, it's a little tricky to drive, power comes on quite suddenly. But what a top end, that car accelerates like crazy at 80mph in 5th gear and just wants to keep pulling
