it has a ford v8. that car is a full custom. it was stretched about 7 inches. .i think its built on a tube frame, there isnt much actual fiat left there. its more like a ford cobra. the guys working on a 69 coupe with a super charged 1608.
theres a pinto club, and mark works on there cars. they are the ones that pushed to get this run organized.

The owner of the Ford/Fiat is a guy named Hal. He also has a Dino spider in beautiful, original condition.
The 5 litre FI Ford powered Fiat has to be seen to be believed! There's more about this car, including a picture of the modified rear body here: http://www.fiatspider.com/f08/viewtopic ... tte#p13766

what a great day! tons of cars. Wives, kids, girlfriends and lots of car guys. It was different with all of the Pintos, but just like our Spiders they ran the gamut from stock to highly modified. Throw in some Lancias. an Alfa, Mini, Toyota and a Honda and we had a very diverse group. The canyons were echoing from the exhaust notes. One Pinto was even equipped with a wheewell cam. Can't wait for the video!

Here are my pics. It was a great day. The weather was perfect, and the drive was outstanding. My car did reasonably well for her first outing - a little smoke on the climb notwithstanding. The boys had a great time too, despite the looks on their faces below (sitting in the sun to wait too long for hot dogs).
Really enjoyed seeing some familiar faces (Mark and Ryan) and meeting some new (Ron, Alvon, others whom I am sure have names, even though I can't remember them). Looking forward to getting some of you together for steaks, timing belt and valve adjustment at my place in the near future.

Man, that looks sooooo coool!!!
I'm gonna make it to one of these get togethers one of these years. What makes it worse for me is I grew up less than a mile from the Starbucks, whata bummer dude!
It's only a 9 hour drive across the desert, maybe in the cooler part of the year it wouldn't be too bad. For now I'll just enjoy the pics. Nice looking machines out there, even the Pintos.

I guess when you have a orphan car like a FIAT you have to hook up with whomever you can for events. I haven't been on any Pinto runs, it's usually MG's.
