I know this is the fiat forum but other cars and trucks must have some things in common about replacing the Side windows .So ,,I want to share something with you from what I learned after a couple hours of scratching my head and ,,maybe spiiting out a few choice words yesterday while I was installing new windows and track in my 72 chevy truck. You Know ,,like darn and shoot and heck ect ect ..LOL
I have changed out windows before and have it down to a almost 1-2-3 and it's in ,,but man I had a time yeaterday and questioned my self quite a few times about if I remembered the steps or was I missing not seeing something that was bent or what?
How many of you guys and gals have went to bed and lay there thinking of the project and "" the light bulb comes on in your head and you think you have the answer and next morning you get right with it and a lot of times solve the problem?
Well ,, I did and I sill show you what the problem was with Pictures .. Its always a good idea to go back and look at the old part and compare ,,and I didn't catch this difference until I slept on it and then took a good look this morning .
I even put the old window in and found that it worked to prove out that the new window that the glass shop intalled the cork seal ,,Had not gotten the window put into the track at the location it should be ..
And by not being in the correct position ,,the window would roll up part way and get two-blocked against the wing window track..
I have not taking the Fiat door paneling off and do not know if the windows have a track or not so if someone wants to tell me what they do have I would be interested in knowing .. LD

Re: Side Window Replacement
It always helps for me to walk away from a problem, sometimes for a week or two....I'm a slow thinker. Wait till you try removing the door glasses out of your Spider. You'll be sure to come up with new words.
