Greetings, my first fiat came to me in 1980. It was either a 73 or 75 124 sport coupe. I loved that car. It had beautiful lines that resonated with in future coupe into the 90’s. Fast forward to the present, my partner and I have been searching for nearly a year for a two seater. I also previously owned a British Leland product. My partners father was a fiat dealer back in the 70’s. While we searched one of our criteria was the room to accommodate our 45lb Boston pit bull Kozmo. I remembered that the 124 spider convertible had a “ backseat”. Our combined knowledge of these vehicles cemented our search for one. We are snow birds. We go to Florida for 3 months over the winter. As we searched we decided to avoid private sales with a few exceptions. This past September in our search of classic car dealers we came upon a listing in Bradenton Fla. It was only 25 minutes from our winter address. We watched as the calendar crept up to our departure date. I thought about reaching out to the dealer but chose not to. Low and behold just weeks before our departure the car sold. We surmised that it just was not meant to be. Two weeks after we arrived in Fla the car reappeared. We put a deposit on it. I was back in Va already. I returned to Fla and met with dealer, made our inquiries and in February we took ownership of our 1975 fiat 124 spider. We are driving it in Fla and will have it shipped to VA. It is a two owner car. Has been taken care of, maintained and upgraded. We are thrilled to have this car. We are hoping to find a club or group here in Northern Va who enjoy these cars. I will read the rules regarding posting pics and update this post.

Welcome, that's quite the story, and there are quite a few Fiat spider owners in the DC area. I suggest setting up an account on Mirafiori.com, and you'll be able to meet them pretty quickly.

I'm from Virginia originally, as is my '69 spider, but I'm now a bit far from that.

Hi Hobie (?).
great story, great car?! Any pics available? We always love to see some new member cars!

So you found your Spider in Florida, quite a good place to find a Spider. The worldwide Spider actually counts 528 Spider in Florida, see here:
https://www.fiatspider.de/register?Nati ... ective=All
There are variuos CS1 Spider (incl. model year 1975) listed, is your car included?

If not, it would be great to get the car data as a new Virginia car (probably the 237th Spider!):

Good luck with your car and happy motoring!
Cheers Ralf
