Automatic transmision oil level.
I have since a few months a Spider 2000 from 1979 with automatic transmission. I regularly check the oil levels and since a few days the oil level of my automatic transmission is much much higher than normal. The level was perfectly just below the max. Now it is so high that even the spiral of the oil dipper is covered with oil. Does anybody have a suggestion what this can be? I do not notice any change in behaviour of the car.

Re: Automatic transmision oil level.
Are you wiping off the dipstick before measuring, to make sure it's not just coated from transmission oil spraying up the dipstick tube?
The procedure is to warm up the car by driving a few miles, put the transmission in Park and let the engine idle, remove the dipstick and wipe it off with a clean rag, reinsert the dipstick, then take it back out and check the oil level.
