Reverse light switch

Post by Vintageant »

Can somebody advise the hex size of the reverse light switch? Looks to be about 19 mm. Just want to be sure I'm looking at the right thing underneath the car. Thanks!

I thought the backup light switch was a bit larger, and sorta weird like 22 mm or so, but my memory is often wrong. In any case, this switch faces rearward out of the back of the transmission, and (along with the output shaft yoke) is almost the most rearward part of the transmission. If you're looking at a switch coming out of the side of the transmission, that's not the backup light switch.

Agreed, Ignore that hex socket above the fill plug.

I happened to have my spider up on ramps and so I checked, and the backup light switch is indeed 22 mm.
