Car radio wont turn on :(

Ive had the car on the drive for a few months while i was learning, it got an MOT now and its all ready to go except one thing - the radio/cd player wont turn on. Its dead as a dodo. Been pressing all the buttons and absolutely nothing happens
Everything else electrical is fine, put a new battery in when it was being checked over at the garage. Any simple things i could try?

With the tight fit for an aftermarket radio, and the mess of wires behind the console, my bet is the hot wire to the radio has disconnected from behind. This has happened to my radio more times than I like to admit. Plan on pulling the radio or console to figure it out.

Make sure the top of the head unit ( radio ) is not grounding out against the top of the dash, which has metal in it. This happened to me. I simply put a thin piece of foam between them and I got 12 volts and power.
