Easiest way to empty my fuel tank?

I need to replace my weeping fuel tank which about 3/4 full. Is there a way to use the car's electric fuel pump to empty the tank without harming the pump? What other options are there without making a major mess? Thanks

Put the top down and go for a long ride?

But yes, I have used the fuel pump - takes awhile.

Do what Brown said, then pull the hose off the intake side of the fuel pump and drain the residual fuel into a basin under the car.

I could be wrong but I think the fuel will siphon out of the tank all by itself if you remove the hose at the fuel pump. When I replaced my fuel pump I had to pinch off the line to stop the fuel flow. The pick up sits close to the bottom of the tank so about 1 inch of fuel remains in the tank.
