First-time FIAT owner

Actually, I'm still in the process of becoming an owner, but the '81 2000 Spider should be in my garage this time Thursday.

Interestingly (or not), the spider represents several firsts for me; first Italian car, first European car, and first convertible. I know all of those things will make this an interesting ownership experience, but I come into it with eyes wide open. I was a master mechanic in a former life, so it will be good to exercise those skills again.

I'm sure this forum will be a valuable resource in the days and weeks to come.

Welcome Tim. I think you'll find your new Spider to be interesting and fun. One thing you need to remember is these cars have a mind of their own and can sometimes be frustrating but oh so rewarding! Many of us are shadetree mechanic wannabees so it's nice to have another real mechanic in our midst. Where are you and your new ride located?

Welcome to the forum Tim. You're in my old stompin' grounds. I grew up in south Seattle, migrated to Lake Stevens at about 10. I've been down in California for 28 years but still consider Washington to be home. My whole family's got the state dotted. Hope you get lots of sunny weather to enjoy your new Spider in. Post some pics for us to see.

I am jealous. I wish I was a master mechanic. But after my first year of Fiat ownership, I am infinitely closer to being a mechanic than I was at this time last year! Welcome.
