I have access to a Weber 32/36 DGV with water choke, but can't seem to find anyone who has run one on a spider.
I am told by the current owner that "the carb is standard factory issue on earlier Fiat 124 spiders 1.6, 1.8L"
The only info that I can find is on an e-bay review & guide.

According to this review it is the only carb to run…. I’m suspicious!
Anyone have any experience?
I have a ’79 with the stock 28/32 ADHA carb and the original intake.
I also have an 1800 intake waiting for a new carb.
I’m not looking to hotrod my spider, but would like a nice mix of better performance, fuel economy and the ability to kill off 30 feet of vacuum lines under the hood.
Thanks for any input,
Jason
Weber 32/36 DGV carb on spider? Experience? Anyone?
Re: Weber 32/36 DGV carb on spider? Experience? Anyone?
I would go with a weber 34 adf with the 1800 manifold it will increase performance and has fewer vacume hoses.

i dont know much about the carb 32/36 dgv but this website http://www.artigue.com/fiat/ has alot of information about fiat spider carbs

a 32/36 will work wonders on your car, but I use the DFEV model. I think the DGV series is a mirror image, which puts the linkage on the wrong side

No reason to use a DGV, FIAT never did. As posted earlier it is oriented the wrong way. If you want a "D" series carburetor use the DFEV; if you want an A series use the ADF or ADL.
ADHA is a boat anchor, so is the manifold it came on. Use it only if you have to. I'm so mean to ADHAs....

Thanks for all the input.... I can't tell you guys how often I come here to learn from others.
BradArtique, I think you said it best... if Fiat didn't use the carb why should I. I think that I will keep looking for a bolt on option.
Thanks again,
Jason

I didn't state it very well, but the DGV is the same family as the DMS, DHS, DFEV, DGAV, DFAV, and other "D" series carb that have shared the same basic body since the 1960's. They all bolt right up but differ in how things hook up to them. The DFEV is the one that fits a FIAT and has an electric choke; the DFAV also fits but has a manual choke. DFEV is under $300 brand new.

Hi!
I run a 32/36 DGAV on my 1982 spider (same carb as DGV but with el choke). It's a great carb. The former owner have made a really simple construction to make the wire arrangement fit. I'll see if I can post a picture on how it's done. (If I forget, please PM me a reminder ).

i just talked to a guy that found a new 32/36 DFEV for $260.
note: they don't come in the box with the linkage you will need for that '79. when you order it...make sure you TALK to the salesman about getting the right linkage. They usually don't tell you that up front, and frustration sets in when you realize you need to wait another week to install.
I love the 32/36 DFEV i've installed on my '80. The electric choke, i feel, is more responsive than the old water choke. maybe it's just me..but my car starts and runs so much nicer these cool michigan mornings that before i made the swap.
Brad is right...stock (incl the intake) is good for fishing on an inland lake.
