looking for a mechanic in Dallas and LA

Hello All-
Just inherited a 78 Spider and it requires a bit of attention before I can drive it from Dallas, where it lives, to LA, where I live. I'm in search of reliable, inexpensive mechanic in Dallas to put the engine back together, and someone else in LA who can do the maintainance. Maybe you have a friend who does this in a garage or on the side, who wouldn't take advantage of a recent grad who's finally got her dreamcar. Thank you so much.

LA Louisiana or LA Los Angeles?

I live in Baton Rouge...but I'm not a mechanic by trade (I build motors but that's another story). There are a couple of ex-FIAT trained mechanics in the area if you'd like to know where they are.
