How to install Oil Breather Hose, (Small Elbow)

Post by SpyderJoe »

Hi all,
It has been a long time since I ventured over here. Here's my question:
I have an oil leak and it is coming from my oil breather hose, (the small elbow that connects the Oil vapor canister to the block). It was easy to tear the old one off, (It has two clips on it). I cannot get the new breather hose elbow back on. Is there a trick to it? If someone has the knowledge, please share. I will be forever grateful. :D

Thanks.

you may have to loosen the vapor separator to get that hose in. Definitely lube the inside of the hose on each end, and you might try soaking it in hot water to make it flexible

I'm not sure which hose you're describing, but the cannister should have a hose to the fuel tank vapor separator, one to the carb float bowl and a vacuum source. Basically the cannister stores vapors from the fuel tank and carb bowl, and they are drawn into the intake manifold when the engine starts
