Removing Dashboard
How difficult is it to remove the dashboard (to make installing a cap easier)? In l looking at the factory manual I see that there are suppose to be bolts at each end and two nuts on either side of the center console up near the windshield but the picture in the manual is of very poor quality. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

the biggest issue you will have is getting everything out of the way. if still factory, the fasteners by the windshield are windnuts. should have a cut-out in the back left corner of the glovebox for access. you may want to remove the glovebox to get to it. same is true of the instrument cluster. The cluster comes out as a unit and the entire cluster is plug-in. You will have more issues with the idiot lights in the center section. they will be harder to install than remove. the wingnuts fit in a slot, so dont have to be removed, just loosened. The job isnt any worse than pulling an engine.

How are the two vent grills on the top of the dash attached? Do I just pry them off or is there another way?

'cuz I can;t keep them IN the dash on my car.
So I can't help ya..... if I knew what was supposed to keep them in, then I'd've fixed it long ago.
I'm no Boy-Racer..... but if I can't take every on-ramp at TWICE the posted limit.... I'm a total failure!

the should just pop out. there are 3 V-shaped clips on the side that pinch them into place. to keep from cracking them, you may want to wait til the dash is removed and push them out from the underside.
