FFO 2010

Post by kmac33 »

Just wanted to thank and congratulate everyone from FLU responsible for putting on a great FFO this weekend. Wanda and I (and the Spider!) had a great time. This was our first Freak Out, but will definitely not be the last (especially since the car is actually finished and driveable now!!!!!!). What a weekend: met some great new friends as obsessed with their Fiat (or Lancia) as I am, got to take the Spider on some nice drives, ate some good meals, got to look over some amazing cars, had a blast on the go-carts and Fiat was there with new 500's to look over (and the "other" models they had there weren't too bad either  ).
It was great to meet so many of you guys in person!
Looking forward to the next event!!!

Not sure why, but the right side of the pictures is getting cropped off.
Here is a short video of the Poker Run that Richard shot holding his iPhone while driving his Scorpion.

Enjoyed the pics. That is one beautiful early spider you have there! I bet that car didn't look that good off the assembly line. :D It is almost exactly the look I'm going for on my '72, rotas and all. Is that a stock color? If so which one is it? I'm considering doing mine in Rosso Vivo (vivid red) #152, an early '70s fiat color.

Jon,
Thanks for the kind words. What you see in the pictures is the end result of close to 2 years of work. I probably have at least a hundred hours of work that I put into it in just the last month to get her finished for FFO :!:
It is not a stock color. My friend that sprayed the car uses Sikken paint in his shop and the color is just straight, pure red - Sikkens 394. It is also cryl, not 2 stage. I am extremely pleased with the color choice. And if I do say so myself, the car looks even better in person :D .

Your car is stunning, Kevin. You did a great job!
The Biltmore home was such a majestic backdrop for our photo. I wish everyone could have been there to appreciate the beauty of the estate and surrounding NC mountains.

Thank you Denise. I actually used your car as the "benchmark" for my restoration. I was determined to get mine at least as nice as yours :) . All of the positive reactions and positive feedback the car got at FFO were a nice reward for all of the long hours and hard work.
Biltmore was the perfect setting for the group photo and the Concorso, and it is tuff to beat those mountains for great drives! It is a shame more folks couldn't have been there to enjoy it all.
I'm looking forward to hearing more details about Fiat Fest for this year. I really hope Wanda and I can make that event too.
