Help removing clutch pedal

I have isolated the noise from my clutch and think it's the pivot or bushing at the pedal pivot bolt. Can I just remove the pivot bolt and slide it out or will I need to remove the clutch cable first? The brake pedal should not need anything removed? Thanks!

You may be able to squirt some lubricant into the bushing to quieten it down, which would save a lot of time and effort. To remove the bushing, yes, you need to remove the pin. But, before you do that, you should remove all the springs on the pedals. The pin did not come out easily on mine (1970), as it bumps into the footwell or something else down there before it is all the way out. I think I remember having to carefully wiggle some of the pedals and spacers off the pin so that I could tilt the pin at an angle to remove it the rest of the way. It's been a long time, and I don't have a clear recollection.

I tried to squirt some silicone spray but it didn't work. There is a kick panel plastic trim that looks like it will need to come out to make room to remove the pivot bolt. I will try it tomorrow and see what happens. Thanks for the info!

Removing the kick panel will help, but I think that you will still find it to be testy. it will come out though, if everything is tilted to just the right angle. . . .

Yep, but what a nightmare. Took me 2 hours to put it all back together. Those bushings just don't like to cooperate when you are trying to get the pivot bolt to go through. After all done, still makes noise. Not as bad but now I'm thinking the cable. And that looks a little easier but not a lot!
