Hey y'all!
Me 'n Josh kinda worked-out something on a parts-diff. But I need to get it from Here (Rocky Mtn West) to There (mid-western corn-country).
We both thought we could separate the axle-tubes from the punkin', and then send it in pieces in multiple boxes.
But I ain't havin' no luck!!!
I don't see that the tubes were welded-in. But dang-me if I can't get them out of the housing. I've tried heat and ice. I've tried great-big pipe-wrenches...Heck; I've even tried cursin' in 'Idi', and biting my thumbnail at it....
no such luck.
Anybody every get one of these apart?

Re: rear diff dissassembly
dude! You are not going to get them apart, they are pressed in and plug welded in at least two spots if not four. You are going to have to ship it freight or find one locally.

Really?
so, here's a case of FIAT being more than standard.... 'cuz in all the rear diffs I've destroyed over the years, the only ones with plug-welds have been the ones I've plug-welded.
But I'm glad I asked.
thanks Ted!
