Clutch spring extension wire

Post by FatherFiat »

I installed a new clutch in my '78 during the recent restoration. I have the external spring for the throwout arm, but have managed to lose the extension wire, which connected it to the tranny case. Does anyone out there know how long that wire should be? I am currently depending only on the pedal spring to keep the clutch arm where it should be.

Thanks,
Forgetful Fatherfiat

I believe if you unfold a paper clip it will be the same size, but i probably would double it up for strength

I am very careful with accepting checks... I only accept checks from a nigerian bank.

"unobtainium" No such thing. I've got 2 or 3 of them, the spring too. matt.scarton@gmail.com

Thanks for the reply(s) guys. But if you lose or break yours, just get a length of piano wire, about 1mm in diameter, and bend your own. A little heat won't hurt when bending, but quench it afterwards to avoid softening the steel.
