Pass Aircare without Air Pump?

hey everyone

I have a 1980 Spider 2000 Carb. It has a catalytic converter, but the air pump belt is removed, because with it attached, the exhaust manifold gets hot and glows. I am located in Vancouver, and the car has to pass Aircare. Just wondering if it would pass without the air pump. Just don't want to attach it to pass, then remove it again to save the hassle.

need to know more about aircare; are there standards or just visual? If there CO and HC standards, it depends on what they are. Here in Calif, it's almost impossible to get the air/fuel ratio lean enough without the air pump working. If your manifold glows red with the pump hooked up, you either have an overly rich mixture or a misfire (or both). Either one will ruin the catalytic converter pretty quickly

I too live in Vancouver, B.C..... My car is a '75 (1800) without an air pump and no cat and it easily passed air-care. You should not have any major difficulties.
