Hey I think i solved my brake prob, after dismantling the master again ,(still looked perfect,) I adjusted the rod on the booster back about 2 turns , the brakes havent locked up since.!!!! i'm happy.
2 more questions, #1 boot cover -what does the hardware consist of besides the rubber hold down straps? is there a bar that silps into the chrome things on the rear cowl ? is it one or two? are they available or should i try to make my own?
#2 I seem to have a whistle in the carb after it comes off idle when im driving, tolarable but would like to fix if it dosent involve replacement of the carb,
brake lock solved ... boot & whistle
Re: brake lock solved ... boot & whistle
great news on the brakes.. always a pain to try to drive like a bat outa hell when the anchor is still out.
boot hardware.. those rubber straps? i dunn use them. the actual boot has four pieces of hardware required to hold it in place. two plastic parts that fit inside the little pockets of the boot tips and then fasten to the top frame JUST behind the door. two metal brackets that fit inside the rear "corners" and fasten to the chrome hooks on the body.
those hardware parts can be purchased new from our catalogue suppliers. but, i believe that getting used original parts would be the best way to go. i don't care for the fit or look of the aftermarket stuff i have seen and use. frequently, you can find used boots with the hardware for less than you can buy replacement hardware. keep your eyes open.
whistling? what tune? Dixie? yeah.. well that is Denise's favorite song. quite annoying, isn't it? i'd be checking for a cracked or broken vacuum hose.
