The compressor that Foster48 posted a photo of is the one that AutoZone loaned me . I thought it worked great and is the safest one I have seen next to the Fiat factory tool. As I mentioned earlier I tore my hand up pretty good when a poor quality internal compressor popped loose. I have great respect when it comes to handling compressed springs now.

ACK! He's using the one that stole some USA worker's job...robbed food from his kid's dinner plates, and helped send the unemployment rate up another .5%

Craftsman makes a really cool spring compressor set, and Craftsman tools are USA made.
Sooooo, Bouse, where exactly were Fiat spiders manufactured? You are concenred that someone is using a non-made in the USA tool to work on an ITALIAN car. What's wrong with this picture?

Hi All,

I use a custom made spring compressor that pulls the spring down through the middle. Where the shock hole is. It takes about 30sec to install and with a rattle gun on the nut, pulls the spring down in about 5 seconds. Then I remove the upper control arm pivot, let the assembly drop and unscrew the compressor.
