Where to get Fiat door key blank or keycutting?

Post by restonko »

Hey everyone

just wondering if there are any places to get a blank door/trunk key for a Fiat Spider or keycutting in the Vancouver/Victoria BC area?

I know Vicks dont carry any Fiat door keys in their online store. But maybe IAP does, but not sure which one is the correct one for my car. The links to their Fiat keyblanks is here: http://www.international-auto.com/key-blanks.cfm

My door/trunk key looks like this:

Hope you guys can help me out.

Thanks!

Reston, I got keys and had them cut at either Price or the other place (can't recall the name) a few doors down from Price's on Fort Street, in Victoria. The ignition key looks stock, but the trunk key is a larger (non-stock) size. Actually, I like the larger trunk key. Let me know if I can help.

I just had a new door/trunk key made on Monday at the locksmith shop across the street from my office. Ace Hardware did not have the blank, so when I went into the locksmith shop I had my fingers crossed. The guy looked at it and said "Is this for a Fiat?" Sure enough he had the blank in stock, the name on it is "SILCA". I asked him if he could still get these and he told me they are still available.

thx everyone

I can go to Price's or the 'other' place on Fort Street when I go back to Victoria in September when school starts. I am in Vancouver right now, and my keys are at my mechanic's; having my alternator rebuilt. I have 2 ignition keys, but only 1 trunk/door key, so just want to have a few more of those. They are so small, just don't want my only one to get lost or break on me. Is it a really uncommon keyblank? the door/trunk key. Will a local locksmith or keycutting/engraving place have it?

I think I asked a keycutting place and they didnt have it, so just gave me a feeling that these Fiat keys are really uncommon. I put some pictures of mine just because I saw some for sale on IAP just dont know which type it is.

If there is a place in Vancouver, then that will be awesome. Or I'll just wait until I go back to Victoria and head to Fort Street to do it.

Thanks!

The locksmith up the street from me has these blanks. If you need, I can pick up a couple and send to you. Let me know.

hi greg, where is this locksmith located at? Maybe I can make a trip there myself.

if its not in Vancouver/Victoria, then maybe its too much of a hassle. I can go to the place Launie had them done in Victoria. I'll be back in Victoria in 2 weeks.

Or if someone knows which key 'type' or part # on the IAP online store. I can get a few from there.

Thanks!

Reston,

I'm in Oakland, California. It would be no trouble to pick up a couple of keys and send them to you. These are the same keys I have for my door and trunk. PM me with your address and I can get them to you. You can buy me a beer the next time I'm in my favorite city, Vancouver.
