Center console

Post by red107 »

Anybody running the replacement center console? I have them and am not impressed with them. Looking to get them covered. I have broken small piece. Repaired it and I figure getting them covered in leather would hopefully support it. Additionally the upper piece has no way to attach to the lower. The original was screwed together. I am going to carefully drill some holes and attach them that way. just hoping not to crack these anymore. They are made out of the abs plastic.

we're making lower consoles from fiberglass, and they are incredibly strong

I was thinking of doing the same thing. I order this one a few years back from spider point. I believe that they are too rigid. There needs to be some flexibility to them.

My replacement is not the cap. My replacement is the hard ABS plastic. Much thicker than the caps. Had i realized the issues I was going to have i would of kept my old center console and had it reupholstered. Looking for a used lower console now.
