Took my new 80/81 for a nice 500km weekend with my girlfirend. First time I stopped (2 hrs of driving and a new cramp in my knee), there was coolant steam coming from hood. Girlfriend looking on ankiously, already two hours late, I bought a jug of premix, then (insert smiles) promptly aded some to my windshield washer container...
(my '74 had the fancy "bag" over on the passenger side, so I added fluid to what I thought was the overflow container.... which, on my 80/81 turns out to be my winshield washer resevoir!!)
ok, finish your giggles....
Quick way to purge this fine mess, or... remove resevoir?
ok, get your giggling over with...

Due to recent budget cuts and the rising cost of electricity, gas, and oil, we have decided to turn off the light at the end of the tunnel. We apologize for any inconvenience.

No giggling here...yet I would remove the bag and dispose of the mix.

...but your windshield wont overheat now.
Do you still have a girlfriend? She might be rethinking that now.
LOL. Advice above it the only way to go.

well, you certainly don't wanna activate that pump and squirt antifreeze on the windshield, so i would not only dump the bag, but also flush it thoroughly.

So, 80/81 has a hard plastic container for the washer reservoir? Sounds like it fixed the overheating problem.

correct, no bag, has a hard plastic resevoir right beside the rad (wilst the rad overlow is NOT right beside the rad... crazy Itialians )
Hey, no worries about squirting antifreeze on windshield, haven't figured out how to turn it on yet!! Lol, note, check Ebay for owners manual and/or Haynes...
