I hear ya.
1. The nuts are a serious pain in the a$$, but with persistence and a flex ratchet, you can get to the nuts on the intake. The ones nearest the firewall are the worst in my opinion.
2. I didnt go with an inch spacer on my DFEV, I went with 1/4 inch and it appears to run great but I can see how having the other 3/4 inch could improve perf... I had to use shorter lugs to mount my carb, but it did work well. Otherwise, you may have to contact Weber or a machine shop to fabricate one for you... Others on this forum could probably answer this question far better than I.
3. There is no fuel return line.. cap the fuel return line coming into the engine compartment.
4. I removed all of the smog crap (keep it around though, or donate to someone on here looking for it) and I plugged off the vaper canister.
5. Finding all the right plugs to fit the 1800 intake can be a fun task.
6. blocking off of the exhaust port on the block on the exhaust manifold side is also something else to consider since it will be open... after you install your headers... unless the base extends far enough to block the port.
7. Dipstick tube wil be left dangling when you install 1800 manifold as the perch was on the old manifold.. so, you will have to create a perch for it....
Consider installing an oil pressure guage while you are under there and clean up the trap under the intake manifold since you are there...
MBOUSE was a hero to me when I did mine... his information was absolutely spot on and priceless... he knew all of the little nuances of the gig...
I will also gladly answer any questions that I can, but I am a neophite compared to others on here!
