Carb ports how to remove and install

Post by tglancy »

1975 Fiat 124 with ADFA carb. I have two carbs in hand with casting breaks in different location. The sum of the two will equal one good one. I need to remove the brass barb from on piece and move it to the other casting. How are put in? Can I pull them out? If I destroy the bad casting to extract the brass barb can I put it in the good piece?

There shouldn't be any need to damage the carb to bet the brass barb out. I think you can just wrap it in a cloth and work it out with pliers.

In fact, advice is usually given to not clamp the hose right up against the carb because that can cause the brass barb to pull out, potentially starting a fire under the hood.
