While working under the hood I found that the sensors under the intake manifold are not connected. I know one is supposed to be connected to the relay that changes the ignition from the starting to the running points (correct?) however it is not connected. I have a number of wires and such in a bundle but do not know what needs to go where. Can anybody help me with this? A picture is always worth a thousand words.
Thanks,
Dual ignition sensor

Re: Dual ignition sensor
Mine isn't connected either, but I converted my dual points to single points as recommended here, so I can't be of help. I have lots of disconnected wires in that area as well. Mine also used to have A/C to boot.

Re: Dual ignition sensor
What did you do to convert it over, just change the timing? AC system, do you still have the old unit?
Re: Dual ignition sensor
while the system did advance timing for starting, it really is an emission system. Rather than advancing timing for starting, it really retarded timing for running in the lower gears. Better performance is obtained by just running off one set of points. Just leave the other set in place as a spare set
Re: Dual ignition sensor
Thanks Mark I will heed your advise. So is it safe to assume that the system would be using the retarded timing now and I should set it at 0 degrees TDC?

Re: Dual ignition sensor
The A/C compressor was gone when I got the car.
Check out this link.. http://www.international-auto.com/fiat- ... ersion.cfm
When I did this I discovered my ignition coil was hooked up reversed so that gave me a few problems, but I tracked it down.
The recommended timing setting that I have found on here is 10 degrees BTDC. Mine runs best at about 15, so whatever works best.

Re: Dual ignition sensor
I would set the initial timing at 10, and keep advancing it up to 15 if you don't have any starting or pinging issues
