Pennzoil Synchromesh Manual transmission fluid.
It says...
Pennzoil® Synchromesh Fluid is a synchromesh transmission fluid designed for certain manual transaxles and manual transmissions used by General Motors or Chrysler. Pennzoil® Synchromesh Fluid is formulated with high-quality paraffinic base stocks, a fluidity modifier, multifunctional performance additives, corrosion inhibitors, a foam suppressor and a shear stable viscosity index improver additive. It provides excellent oxidation stability, low-temperature performance, excellent synchronizer performance and compatibility with yellow metals, such as bronze, brass and copper components found in manual transaxles and transmissions. This product will satisfactorily lubricate General Motors or Chrysler manual transaxles and transmissions from -40°C to +150°C.
Saw it in Autozone and was just wondering if anyone has used this. It does not state a GL number on it and might call Pennzoil during the week to find out more.
Does anyone use this?

Pope,
I did research on this product. I contacted the guys at Pennzoil via their website and they said it would not be a good choice for a GL1 replacement.

Thanks, I think this stuff is a parrafin base and GL-1 is usually a mineral oil base.

I have seen posts on the FLU website re. that Pennzoil product.I have already had to do a rebuild on my tranny because the p/o used some questionable fluid.I will let somene else use their tranny for experiments! I will stick with the tried and true GL-1

I had to check your signature on that post Craig, I thought at first it was Brad Artigue! I will give a resounding 2nd to it. My tranny disintegrated shortly after putting in a synthetic that included GL1 in it's ratings. It may have been a coincedence, but I'm not taking chances anymore. When I got my rebuilt tranny from Jon Logan (Midwest 124) he shipped the GL1 with it, and I'm sticking to it.
