Craig, you "took her home and covered her up"? Which, the car, or Bambi's mother?

Could have been ''deer payback'',as I shot one on Friday! That is doe day in Ga.and people are encouraged to take one for the freezer ,as we are over-populated.We are having Bambi burgers this weekend! All kidding aside it was really close and as low as my car sits, the deer may have ended up in my seat.I usually drive very slowly down our road as they are everywhere, especially at dusk.

I envy you Craig. I grew up hunting in the mountains of Washington state, but haven't gone out once since I relocated to California, 28 years ago. No way am I going out where there are a bunch of Californians with guns!
There was an incedent a little over a year ago up in northern Ca with a guy returning home from a Fiat function and hit a deer on I-5. It demolished his car.

Wow I found this web site http://ezinearticles.com/?Deer-Car-Accidents&id=302157 that references the number of deer vs automobile accidents and the results. An experience I can live without.

Wow,those are some eye opening stats. I read an article recently in SI that spoke of the over population of deer,bears,coyotes,etc.. It blames it on the ultimate predator, man, not being in the woods anymore. It seems we have lost our taste for hunting(guilty as charged) from years past, coupled with the fact we have built into their domain. Some towns have hired professional hunters to try to cut down on nuisance wildlife.

it's not an animal overpopulation problem, those numbers are down in virtually every species. It's the loss of habitat or human overpopulation problem.

When I was a kid, you did not see Geese, Deer, Cyotees, Turkey, Fox, or many Ducks. Our fore-fathers almost ate them all! The populations are coming back, at least here. Elmur Fudisms.

Its definitely overpopulation in Michigan. State added a 5-day antlerless season this year to try to combat increased numbers, in the Upper Peninsula and Upper Lower Peninsula.
The good news is that Global Cooling is helping slow the deer population as Michigan has had increasingly longer and colder winters in the last 5 years with this year already starting out with a bang and with increased snow cover.

Do you ever notice that global warming never seems to come up during the winter months only in July and August, makes me wonder.
