Convertible Top

Post by RDSPYDR »

Is there a book/manual that has a good breakdown of the Convertible top. It's kind of hard to know what I might be missing without some good pictures or a good manul. Neither manual that I have, has a breaksdown of the top that is very good.

Thanks

Try the IAP website. It has a good breakdown of a convertible top and hardware.

the IAP reproduced "Shop Manual" has a good (not great) section on top installation and top operation. might get a couple of ideas from that. What do you think you might be missing?

Of course, nothing beats a good ole-fashioned physical comparison to another vehicle. i think everytime i attend a Fiat gathering i spend a good 30 minutes or so pouring over each new-to-me vehicle to look at the subtle differences to my cars.

ask your buddies to allow you to look at their Spiders for comparison.

I would look at some other Spiders, but I have only seen 2 down in this area yet and haven't been able to track the owners down.

Ran into another problem with the top, looking for a new or used bow. Mine was so rusted that the p.o. had run duct tape all over it to hide the rust.
