Cowardly, gutless, spine-less scumbags!!!!!!

Post by 124spiderman »

Probably not a great start to this thread, but thats how I feel at this moment. Probably want to vent some anger and tell some fellow Fiat owners about what happened the other day. :x :x :x :x
My pride & joy was keyed. Yep. Some gutlesss trashbag, too lazy to earn his/her own keep, thought to themselves, "Hmmm, nice convertible - might run my key down the side...."
There is a 5 inch deep scratch on the rear quarter. That means that whole rear quarter panel is to be re-painted.
Thing is, I'm always careful where I park, not too close to other cars, making sure not to piss anybody off etc etc.
Anyone else had similar experiences? I need some counselling....

Whew! You're talking to us, not about us.
Every time I park my car in a public place I worry that something like this will happen.
I hope there's a special spot in Hell for people who do things like this.
Your rage is understandable.
Not the same, but in 1968 I bought a new Mercury Cyclone. I took it from the dealership over to my parent's home to show off my new car. When I brought them out of the house, we found thier huge German Shepard laying on the warm hood. I screamed "Gilbert! Get down!" The dog jumped up, tried to run, but couldn't get traction. You know those cartoons where they run in place, then take off? That's what the dog did on my new car. At least in this case, I knew who did it, and was able to shoot the dog. (Kidding)
Sorry about your car.

You may want to invest in a car cover. It only takes a minute to put it on or to take it off and fold it. I almost always cover the car if it's going to be parked for more than an hour or so -- not for reasons of vandalism, but to keep the bright sun rays and dust off the car. I think that a covered car is less likely to be vandalized.

Do you have any threatening stickers on your windows or bumpers? My son had the same misfortune that someone keyed his pristine '67 Cougar, and later came to find out that a window sticker he had on a rear quarter window was one of the local gang signs, and the opposing gang members probably did the bad deed. The sticker was just something that was on the car when we bought it from a family in Minnesota. He has removed the sticker, of course.

Oh man, that's gotta be one of my worst fears. I'm sorry it happened to you. This is the reason why my husband won't even let me drive mine to the grocery store. I think because I'm so particular about my cars, these things happen to me. I parked my Bonneville at the store and when I came out I saw some had guy banged his door into mine. I let the air out of two of his tires.
Another time, I was in line at Wendy's and watched a woman throw her door into my truck. I confronted her when she came in, took her outside to show her what she did to my truck and got her insurance info. She was so pissed she didn't even stay to eat.
But, the worst thing that ever happened is when I parked my 69 Fiat Spider under a parking lot light and as I was sitting at a window of the restaurant, a van pulled up and blocked my view. When he pulled away after 10 minutes, there was a crowd around my Fiat. A drunk had jumped the curb, hit my car, pushed it several feet (totalling it) and was crawling out of his car to walk home.

Thats got to be one of the most defenceless feelings one can have when that happens .. You have no one to hollar at or black their eye or nothing.. I feel for you ,,and hope this short story helps ..
Revenge is exceptable in my opinion and one time I parked my truck at a grocery store and a young girl got out of her mothers car and hit my Brand new Truck .. I got out of my truck and went around and told the mother what the girl had done and she looked and said to me "sorry ,,she's just learning to drive " I said this has nothing to do with driving ,,it's her not holding onto her door when she opened it ino my truck.. They just walked off into the store..
Then My friend came out and seen what I was looking at and said 'Oh my God! .. she then said to me get in the truck there is nothing you can do about it . Just as I got into my truck ,,I heard two big bangs,, or ,,what ever the noise is when both feet are kicked like a mule into the front door of a Ford Galaxy.
I drove off with a smile on my face and even as I write this I am smiling about what she did that I wanted to do but didn't..

I have had a whole container of CD's taken from the car when I just ran into a store. About 20 of them and that was before the iPod, so no digital. They were hidden on the floor in the back seat under neath a jacket.

I really don't understand it! Someone slashed my spider's top in college. Actually, it is that A*******'s fault that she is in the shape she is right now because at the time I couldn't afford to get a new top and my parents made me park her.

The world is full of self-absorbed idiots. None of us would be able to sleep at night if we ever accidentally damaged someone's car. Vandalism is something incomprehensible to car guys. Unfortunately, we are not representative of the population at large.

agreed.

i once sat in a parking lot waiting for the Mrs. to finish some shopping. ahead of me sat a mid-size vehicle of no real importance, except to the owner. Along came some "self-absorbed idiot" who swung into the spot behind WAY too fast, slammed into the mid-size car. He was going soo fast, that he shoved the other vehicle about two foot forward at an obvious angle.

I couldn't believe what i saw next. the guy backed up and fled. never got out to see what damage he did, just left.

i quickly memorized the license plate, wrote it down, and waited for the owner of the mid-size vehicle to appear. I gave her my story, my phone number and the license plate. She was extremely grateful, saying "My husband would never believe me if he discovered damages. he would have thought that I did the damage."

Yep. A couple of years ago I came out to a public parking garage (in a very upscale area) to find my late model BMW vandalized. Not just keyed...trashed. Spit on, kicked in door panels, keyed. They took their time. $5,000 worth of damage. Hard to describe the feeling. Showed the cops. They were (sorta) sympathetic. "Did you see who did it?" they asked. No.
"Oh well, not much we can do."
Anyway, sorry to hear what happened, and I know how you feel.

You're right Sam. it did sound that way when she said it too. I've been thru, and done nearly everything to and with a car, except die in one.... so i generally give a knowing smile when my kids showed up with YET ANOTHER ding in the vehicle(s) i allowed them to drive over the years.

My dad liked to unload on me when i goofed up with a vehicle. I don't pass that tradition on to the next generation. 8)

Our local news has been showing pictures of vehicles that have been vandalized for having McCain stickers on them.

I parked outside of a restaurant in a small strip mall and watched a Rolls Royce try to squeeze in a spot behind my truck hitting it several times in the bumper and then watched him try and give himself more space by pushing my truck with his Rolls. Having a good bumper I was not too worried but still pretty ticked. So I went out to confront the jacka$$ but he was gone. So being the smarta$$ I am I wrote him a note saying “Sorry about your car, if I could afford to fix it would have waited for you.” I went back into the restaurant and sat down with my friends for a now extended dinner just to watch. When the guy came out he found the note and started to frantically look over his car for the damage and called the Police to make a report. We watched the Police walk around the car with him for a while and shake their head at him not seeing any damage. The guy was sure there must have been since there was this note. I saw the cop wipe off the rubber strip on the bumper uprights and looking at it closely and then just shook his head again and left. We had quite the laugh from our ring side seat at the restaurant. My friends still can’t wait to tell the story again and again to this day. I wonder how much he spent looking at his car at home trying to find the "Damage".
