For those of you who haven't noticed, my signature has changed, and i am due to change my picture (avatar). I am very, very happy at the opportunity to make someone else feel real happy as well. Patience is a virtue, and something i am personally not over-endowed with. But, persistence i have aplenty.

my garage has returned to its former mono-linguistic state!! i can cancel my catalogue and email subscriptions to all the LBC parts providers. Hoods are now hoods, and bonnets are things that fly off your head at a high rate of speed. Boots go on folded convertible tops again. Earth is something you walk on, not something the black wire hooks to. Spanner wrenches are something the plumber uses, not something in my mechanic's tool box. Whitworth - hah! Metric is king again. Anyone need a collection of 9/16" wrenches?

Sorry, Dwight. I never intended to be your bosom buddy in the area of foreign car ownership. I like my Fiats, and i intend to keep them. S'long FrankenStein the Spitwad; i sincerely hope you make your next owner happy and proud. i am glad to hear that you made the trip to Wisconsin safely, and that you started right away for the new guy....that speaks highly for both you and me.

i managed to come out of the deal relatively unscathed. i was able to recoup all of my monetary expenses, with enough left over to take mamma out to dinner! it's a hobby, dear; not a second job. getting paid for labor was never part of the plan. and i gained invaluable insight on ressurection techniques; enough to dissuade anyone from attempting a halfhearted restoration. There is also a point of overindulgence that must be learned; and I luckily did not exceed that line in the pavement, ever.

s'cuse me while i step out back and burn a few thousand wiring diagrams. LORD LUCAS, Prince of Darkness, you can leave now. Luigi is my man, and lasagna is his game.

yeah, that seems to be one of the major highlights! room to wrench.

i can wrench and get help wrenching this winter... all in one language. and, trust me, this year there is a stack of items on the to-do list.

That comes from the corporate library of terms, such as he left the company to "pursue other interests" (he got fired); or we are undergoing a "manufacturing realignment" (we're closing a bunch of plants); or how about we're going to be "streamlining the organizational structure" (we're laying off hundreds of people).

i generally like using big words, but this one... i gotta admit is not in my vocabulary.

yes, there are still fools out there that will buy anything. Camaros will sell, Barrett Jackson will insure that. if you want it to move now, set your sights as low as you can tolerate and be patient.

this spitfire was just needing the right guy to come along and pick up the project where i needed to leave off. it took me a full year longer than i had hoped. good for him; it will make a great car in a year or two. and, resale after he is done is nearly 50% higher than a comparable Spider...lucky dawg.
