Apparently I should have ordered the 32/36 DFEV but instead I got the DGEV. Linkage on the other side. Has anyone used one of these? Looks like I'll need a tall spacer and would a universal linkage kit get the cable around to the other side?

As far as I can tell, the DGEV is a mirror image of the DFEV but of course that means the throttle opens in the other direction. I have a 38DGAS in one of my spiders, and I had to built a bracket so that the throttle cable would pull towards the left side of the car. It works, but it's a bit crude.
I don't know if a universal linkage kit would work in your case, but I would imagine you could get something to work with a bit of engineering creativity.
I also tried mounting my DGAS with the float bowl in the rear (rather than the front as it normally is), but that didn't work so well as the gas level would shift forward on deceleration (especially going down a hill) and flood the engine so it would stall.
