Deal or No Deal 1982 Spider $501

Post by GOPAPA »

Still don't know enough about these cars to know how much is to much .. Need imput ,,from the brightest minds I know ..

A 1982 fiat Spider 2000 for sale with a Automatic ,,top gone ,,some interior not good ,,door panels real good .Passenger seat missing along with rear seat .. Black Interior .painted boot from tan to black .. .. good body panels and bumpers,,hardly any rust (Calif title _ been stored in garage mostly. Original wheels

93,xxx miles on Fuel Injected Motor .. ran one year ago until this landlord took car for rent . He took the starter in and had it checked ,,put it back on and it will not engage and turn the fly wheel.

Question : Can it be parted out and parts sold to be worth the money it costs. LD

P.S. I need the bumper ends that would cost me close to $200 new ,and that would get some of my money back,,,,but I found that you would have to take the bumper apart to really know that they are not rusted alot or just a little ..

there should be plenty of parts to turn a profit with on that car. As we've learned from all of the 82 owners on this forum, they need lots of spares to keep those 82s running

LD, I'm just glad you found this car, if I had found it I would have bought it in a minute. And then I'd have two Spiders but no wife.
Don't let Mark and Denise give you grief buddy. I'm sure if we did a comparison we'd find that carb problems far outnumber the FI problems that are discussed on the forum. And don't let them cloud the issue with logic. Like the fact that the carb models were made for 14 years and the FI for 6.

You'd hug me, of course! Most people that have met me want to hug me just for the joy of seeing my 72. Just ask Craig!

If the body is solid I would not part it out I would bring it back to life. For another $1,000 you could find some used parts to make it a complete car again. Just take those lawyer designed big bumpers off your car and find an old set.

Denise, your confusing a "hug" for a "pat-down" for weapons. I have also never seen documented evidence that Craig has ever even looked at your car, but have seen conclusive evidence that you sat in his car and were seen smiling! Case closed.

I don't let just anyone sit in my car. Is an 82 owner worthy of such a treat? I think not, especially since he stole my Fiat teddy bear this weekend. I have not forgiven him for that one yet!

YEAH! part out that '82... go man, go.

if you buy right, you should really expect a 3x return. missing a seat is not a good thing, but...that ain't all that bad.

do you have space to park it while you part it? figure 6 months.
