We had a break in the rain today so I was able to dive into the 1968 again, I’ve had a slow to start issue that I assumed was fuel but look (use your imagination) at what I noticed just now - lamp cord from coil to distributor!
Worse - it was barely connected.
New wiring piece of proper gauge and new connected, cleaned everyone, and she fires right away now.
Lamp cord is never a good sign...

Wow, that's got to be in the top 3 DPO Wiring disasters.
The other week we were re-wiring my brother's RV and pulled out a coaxial TV cable going from the alternator to the batteries. I kid thee not.

Glad you spotted that before it caused a fire.
Hope you are having a good weekend, stay safe.

Wow, RG-59, huh? I mean, RG-58 maybe, but certainly not RG-59.SteinOnkel wrote:The other week we were re-wiring my brother's RV and pulled out a coaxial TV cable going from the alternator to the batteries. I kid thee not.
Hey, I know, maybe the PO lived near a high powered commercial radio station and wanted to keep RF interference from riding on top of the DC being put out from his mighty fine alternator?
