I have purchased all the shifter linkage parts for the upper and lower sections of the shift lever. (the shifter feels very loose and vague)

If I remove the cover on the bottom of the linkage (triangular, yes!) and loosen the big nut that does that allow me to replace the bottom parts of the linkage? (in the International Catalogue, parts 6-13)

How about the upper parts- nylon collars, and rubber bushings- ( IP catalogue parts 2-5) Do I need to open the console cover and unclip that plastic retainer clip? If yes, whats the best way to release that clip?

As a side note, I was able to buy GL-1 gear oil at my local NAPA store when I found out that Vick's back ordered.
