Brake line replacement kits

Post by architect »

Has anyone replaced all the hard brake lines? Is this a pretty tough exercise? I’m about to replace the booster / main cylinder and figured I do it all.

There’s lots from Vicks and AR... assuming they are correct lengths... do you have to bend to match contours?

I got the AR kit and just did the front lines. The lengths were correct, but yes you do have to bend them. It's not hard, but you'll want to take your time. Get a bending tool for the more aggressive angles near the master cylinder and down by the break hose coupling.

Hi Architect

From what I remember its pretty easy.

A few things to keep in mind:

Keep the old ones in their original state as much as possible
use some string to measure them and match them up with the new line
you will need a bender

If I remember rightly the rear axle lines are a bit longer than the originals so you will have to loop them to take up the slack

Use a vacum bleeder its easier :D

have fun!
