Switching clock for oil gauge

Post by Billholtzman »

Hi everybody,
I would like to switch my clock out for an oil pressure gauge. I tried for a long time today but just couldn't get it right. Oil pressure gauge has a yellow wire with a black tracer this is the wire the runs back to the tach, correct? I have the lighting set up and working, just need to get the gauge to come around. Yes, the gauge and sending unit both work.
Any help in appreciated
Thanks, Bill

Bill,

I swapped my clock out for an oil pressure gauge some time ago.

Thanks for being so quick to respond, Dave. This thought just crossed my mind, is there a different sending unit for a gauge than an idiot light? Also glad to see another MG owner, I am in the process of restoring a 73' Midget right now.

You're very welcome!

Yes, absolutely, the sending units are different for an idiot light vs a gauge.
