Thanks guys for these informative posts. Helped out to diagnose my own issues losing voltage to the wiper motor and all intermittent function on my 1973 CC here in Australia.

For anybody chasing down a similar slow wiper issue. Here's a copy of my coloured wiring schematic for a 1973 CC car and how I fitted the two relays to boost the wiper speeds.
