Wire from speedometer?
I had to pull my dash to replace the speedo cable. Once there, I noticed a cut wire which looks like it goes to the speedometer. It's yellow with a red stripe and at least a foot long. What would it's function be? Thanks for any help.

Re: Wire from speedometer?
It sounds like the lead to the O2 sensor counter. Someone who didn't know what the hell they were doing cut it, instead of simply resetting the counter and/or removing it.

Ok thanks. I'll make sure the end is capped of the bare wire.

Re: Wire from speedometer?
Hi
I have similar yellow-red loose wire in back of speedometer. Gauge is -81 and car -72 without O2 sensor, so I understand that I can remove the wire and the small piece in the back of speedometer?
