Central Virginia FLU adoption
Central Virginia FLU adoption
Are there any FLU chapters/clubs around that would be willing to adopt a new member from central Virginia? It appears that the local chapter (Blue Ridge) is inactive now and we seem to be "too far" for the DC/MD club. So, is anyone else out there interesting in helping out an orphan. Maybe in a few months/years when we have our cars up and moving we could try to revive the Blue Ridge chapter but it would be nice to have a place to call home in the mean time.

Is Carolina FLU too far for you? It's based in the Winston-Salem area.

Winston-Salem is about 3 hours from Lynchburg so about the same as far as the DC club would have been so..... no. That would be just fine.
Re: Central Virginia FLU adoption
i was just gonna suggest that you look up Denise.
myself, i am exactly center between two chapters in Michigan... at least a 2.5 hour drive in either direction. The indianapolis gang is at least 3.0 hours from me.
I feel your pain, but guaruntee the drive is worth the effort. After all, our hobby is driving, right?

pfft. I'm like 4 hours from Chicago chapter of FLU, but they let me hang around.
Re: Central Virginia FLU adoption
Ive had fun with all the regional chapters! I think FLU could give you some detail about their members in your area. Other than that, you can find locals thru car shows, and other clubs.
Re: Central Virginia FLU adoption
You know that is what is sad about this. I know of at least 6 other fiats in Lynchburg alone and that does not include my 2 so there are plenty of us around just not an organized entity for us to take part in. Hopefully we can get something going in the near future but I have too many things on my plate at the moment to get it off the ground.

It's hard to get people together and that's a shame. You're more than welcome to join us in Elkin, NC on the 3rd weekend of October for the Moonshine Rally. The spring event was so popular, we've decided to have it in the fall also. Over 100 cars of different marques and ages come from all over for this fun event.

Re: Central Virginia FLU adoption
Denise - Thank you so much! I will certainly put it on the calender, and provided there is nothing that trumps that (read: my girls are doing something) we will plan on making it. Hopefully we will have a car up and going by then!

Re: Central Virginia FLU adoption
For those of you that are not familiar with this....... The previous post is the definition of southern hospitality! I say this in contrast to the welcome that I received from another FLU chapter. Anyway, Denise- Thank you so much. I would love to participate in any and all of the events that you have invited us but I do not know if that is practical at the moment since we do not have a running Fiat at the moment and we do not have a trailer/tow bar for her after she is running and we attempt 6 hours of continuous running/driving at one shot! I hope that Betty will be better behaved than Babycar but since I plan on taking my wife along who knows, these ladies can tend be a bit temperamental and jealous to say the least. Though my wife states that both shall "Better damn well like me after all I have done for them.....". We will just have to wait and see but your invitation(s) are greatly appreciated. Thanks again.
