Greetings,
I'm in the middle of repairing my shifter. I managed to get the handle back in and have replaced the spring and the cups. I am having a bear of a time trying to get the triangle cover back on in the limited space available, mainly due to my fat hands and short fingers. Can I remove the 3 bolts that attach the guibo to the driveshaft and just move it out of the way? The guibo is maybe a year old and has very few miles on it, so I don't want to replace it at this point.
Any suggestions?

All done! It was so much easier putting the cover plate back on the shifter after dropping the shaft!
I put a big hose clamp around the guibo to make sure it didn't expand. After that, easy peasey.
Now if only the control arms would come back in stock at AR...
