Is that too early for ya oldtimer? We didn't want to start too late so that we'd have time for the BBQ and socializing afterwards. Is 10:00 better for you? Or are you talking about skipping the drive and meeting up after? I don't know how long the drive will be, maybe back to Ace's around 1:00 or so? I'll be talking with him, I'll see if he has a better idea of the time.

Probably sometime between 12:30 - 1:00 to get to my place, assuming arrival in Santa Paula off highway 126 around 10:30 , and traveling a path somewhat like this: http://www.mapquest.com/mq/3-cp6MzoTv1zQJ.

We can cook out for lunch here (Isabella Court, Ventura, 93004), look at cars, play bocci ball, relax in the jacuzzi, etc. Then I can lead the way for anyone interested on a route back on the coast highway down to Malibu, where you can continue down the coast toward Santa Monica, or take canyon roads back up to the 101. If anyone is interested to stay here Saturday or Sunday night, contact me by e-mail or phone (ventura_ace@juno.com, 805-338-1767). I am planning to get some kayaks and windsurfing equipment out.

As far as what to bring: Ace and I are discussing the grocery list. He'll do the shopping and everything will be there. We'll probably do a thing like Merkel does on car nights, put out a bowl for people to cough up a share.

If I bring the possum to bbq, more than a share might get coughed up in that bowl

Is anyone else meeting up with me, Cecat and his brother in Valencia? If so how does 8:30-9:00 sound. We'll be meeting at the Starbucks right off the freeway at Valencia Blvd.
Eladio, are you swinging over to the 5 to hook up with us?

I'll meet you guys in the Kmart parking lot, Peck Rd exit off of highway 126, I'll be there at 9:30, and wait until you arrive. The Peck Rd exit dumps right into the Kmart parking lot. We'll drive along some rural back roads from there along the foothills to a park above downtown Ventura for pictures, then head up toward Ojai, then through the hills to Lake Casitas, loop around the lake, and take the mountain road 150 down to the coast. Probably stop there for more pics, and to enjoy the cool air.

We should be back at my house around noon. If you miss the morning drive and want to make it to the cookout, just head to 1701 Isabella Ct, Ventura. If you get there before we do, just knock on the door, and if nobody answers, just go around to the back yard and make yourself at home.

Thanks Craig.
I tried a different kind of potato for the salad this time. Yukon Golds. I'm a little nervous that it may not be up to my world class standards, but Kris (my wife) says it's great. What could be better than a wife who pumps up a guys ego.
I enjoy these get togethers tremendously, I'm just glad I live in an area with like minded Fiat owners.

I had a blast today, thanks Ace and Ron for setting up a great run. Don't forget to post some pictures. The lake run and cruising down the coast was way cool. Lets do it again,

Thanks George
