Hello,
I am looking for all the AC parts under the hood. The previous owner took out the compressor and whatever else. And just tied the two loose compressor lines up inside under the hood.
Any ideas where I could start my search. I'm not even sure what brackets or whatnots I'm missing. I've been trolling Craigslist for a donor, but they come up very rarely and never for a few hundred bucks.
Thank you
David

Re: AC parts
Hello:
Matthews in Birmingham can probably help you on parts. If you will email me at whhopson@southernco.com I will send you the installation manual that the original dealer installed Texas manufacturer has (parts diagram). The Texas firm offered the kits a few years ago and I put one in; it uses R-134a. I can also email some pictures of my installation. You will need a larger condenser to replace the old R12 one (if it is still on your car in front of the radiator).

Re: AC parts
I built my own system from parts off Ebay and other sources. You might not be able to find the exact original parts but you can make the system work. None of these parts are what you would call "matched".BigMacDave wrote:Hello,

Re: AC parts
other than the compressor mounting bracket, buying 35 yr old ac parts is not a good idea. Those parts were designed for R12 and are not as efficient as new components designed for R134. Other than that compressor bracket, everything else is available new

Re: AC parts
Warren sent me a pretty detailed illustration. I need to take a look and see what brackets I'm missing and work backwards i think.
