Small leak.. what part am I looking at here?

Post by aevansgatech »

Taken from the underside of the car, about midway between front and rear wheels

I've gotten a few drops here and there, and that small triangular plate with 3 bolts seems to be the culprit.

That's the plate right under your shifter. You take that off to get the shifter out through the bottom.

There should be no lubricant in there to leak. Here's a link to a set of parts that includes the plate.

Hmm interesting, so would there be anything else lubricated in the area?

Or any chance a front passenger side coolant spill would collect all the way back there?

It looks like coolant mixed with a bit of oil to me. If you had a coolant spill I would try to wipe as much off as you can and then put some miles on it and see how it looks. Guessing it will remain clean if you get it all.
