Does anyone have any guidance on how difficult it is to replace the steering shaft (from universal joint to steering wheel) on a 75 124 Spider? Seems like a previous owner cut off part of the shaft at the steering wheel mount point and the attachment nut needs a few more threads to safely attach stock wheel. I assume that I can move the lock parts to get the shaft out.
I have never understood this kind of "cutoff wheel" maintenance.

What would you like for it? Can my lock cylinder be transferred or do you have an ignition key also?
