Had to drive to Sacramento (Placerville actually) over the weekend and took CA-49 from Ione to Placerville.
Unfortunately we were in the wife's MDX and not the spider.
I really envy all of you that have roads like this to drive anytime you want. The wife did not think too much of the twisty's, but what a gorgeous drive.

I could have used it too!RoyBatty wrote:Damn dude,
I had cold beer in the fridge.
Wasn't even thinking about the Fiat until we were driving through your little piece of heaven!
I-5 was not inspiring
No time even for pictures.
On a mission to get there and back. About 1,700 miles all together.

Re: CA-49
Tell me about it.
I flew up to anchorage, ak to share the drive back to the lower 48 with my youngest son.
He is USAF and being pcs'd out to another base in the Midwest.
We left anchorage 5am on thurs and arrived home in Ione on Sunday am at 0620.
Managed to avoid hitting any moose, bear, deer, caribou, mountain goats, etc.
