How long have you been here?

Post by spidernut »

I realized today that I've been on this forum for over 15 years. I remember finding it on the fledgling internet and asking questions of a few of the highly knowledgeable members who have since passed on. I believe the year was 1999 or 2000.

It is amazing that after all these years that the forum is still active. Sure it went off line for a while, sure we lost a lot of back data, but what a blessing to have it today still running strong! Thanks to all who keep this site online.

I've been here 4 years. The forum has transformed me from someone who knew nothing about cars and was afraid to touch mine to someone who knows very little about cars and fearlessly tears into his car on a regular basis.

If the forum went away my car would probably never run again!

When i resurfaced i could not remember the login password, so i created a new account. Months later i stumbled into my original account and asked admin to delete it but my request was denied.
The site has been more than useful and i am grateful to its existance. Kudos to all who make it happen.

Also a 2011 alum, 4+ years now since I bought "Fiona" 3/20/2011 - first day of spring that year.

This site has been a blessing with all the info to move me forward in my car build & the friends here I have found centered around these little Italian beauties is second to none.
I support the forum every year for all the information I have used & urge all that do to support.

Heck even after 4 years of reading every post (plus reading ALL the previous upon joining) I still log in almost every day to read the new posts (I may be silent for big lengths of time when all is good but still lurk most every day).

Someone else says it all the time "Welcome to the greatest place on earth"

Joined in 2009. However, I started out on the Mirafiori forum ~1995. I used to go to the computer lab in college to get on :-)

I was also on Mirafiori prior to FS.com. I just didn't like the format but the information was fantastic!

Looks like 2008 for me, and Mira before that. Although I do still check in there as well from time to time.
This site made it soooo much easier to bring my car back from wasting away on the side of the house.

But in addition, I've met some great people as a result as well. From Azruss locally to Manoa Matt in Oahu.

Day before yesterday and counting...

In truth, I am another of the lurkers!!
I think I was checking in here and there for 5 years before I joined. When I decided it was time to pick up a project car, I joined to start checking the for sale section.

Rejoined in Feb 2008, but was a member on the original, then the EZ site and whatever else it was called. Basically since 2003 when we pulled the old 78 out of the garage

Not sure, found it on the second Spider and poked around for about four or five years before selling the car. Took a break from Fiats for about five years, lost mind, email, user ID. About 5 years ago bought another Spider by accident and rejoined. Really not sure how the First Fiat ever stayed on the road in the days before internet help. this is ten times better than trying to figure out exactly what they mean in the repair book.
Buon giro a tutti! - enjoy the ride!
