Morning All,
My name is Grant, i fortuitously came into possession of an old 1980/81 Fiat Spider 2000 last year, am just preparing on the long road to rebuilding. The car is from the US, but it no recides with me in Dunedin, New Zealand, nearly as far south as you can go in this world and still find a decent mechanic.
Cheers
Grant

Morning back atcha Grant.(I'm reading this at 5:30 PM)
Welcome to the forum. Is your car an 81, built in 80? If so, it's fuel injected, yes? Is your car rebuilding going to be a "rolling" process?
Don't neglect to keep a photo log of your progress, and let us see the pictures.

Welcome to the forum. Plenty of Aussies here, but nice to know there's a few Spiders even further south. Although probably even fewer then here in Oz.
Anyway, enjoy!

Welcome! There are a lot of members from Oz on the site. Should be able to help you source parts. Some of the guys have converted their cars to RHD as well. Don't know if if that will be part of your project or not, but it has definitely been done. Be sure to post some pix.

Cheers, it is fuel injected so i guess that makes it an 81. The spider was brought by my father-in-law about 13 years ago in Tuscon, Arizona, he shipped it back to NZ for restoration, but died a couple of years later without having started the project. (Too many others he was working on at the time). So now it's fallen into my hands. Planning a back to bare metal rebuild, and maybe a few modifications as well.rlux4 wrote:Morning back atcha Grant.(I'm reading this at 5:30 PM)

Welcome to the forum Grant. From my experience with Kiwis, most of them are pretty handy with a spanner, and if I remember correctly there used to be a pretty hot backyard motorcycle mechanic a bit further south than you, at Invercargill.45South wrote:Morning All,
